After years of attempting to do it on my own, I was told by a friend I could hire an accountant to assist with my personal financial planning. This had never occurred to me. I always thought of an accountant as a sort of tax preparer only. The first thing I am going to do is have a Sacramento Certified Public Accountant – CPA assist me in setting up a monthly budget. Then, after I have a budget in place, we shall move on to short-term and long-term savings. There is already a sense of security I feel just knowing that a professional can help me get my finances on track.

The rock n’ roll scene had better look out, because this Los Angeles based band is rockin loud and hard. Lords of altamont is a band that we are hoping will be around for a long time. Past and current members are all talented musicians driven to make a loud, unique statement about life as they see it. No one can sit still during one of their wild, energetic performances in this country and in Europe. It is refreshing to see a rock n’ roll band that doesn’t feel they have to smear heavy makeup on their faces to make an impression on their audience. The back jeans and t-shirts they often wear work best of all.

I decided to leave city life for a quieter, gentler pace and had visions of myself wearing a fetching sunhat and garden gloves as I gently worked my vegetable garden. I took the leap and bought a rural home on a few acres. The following spring I spoke to the locals, who were happy to provide anything from corn growing tips to home plumbing advice. Two weeks later my sunhat was bedraggled, I was sunburned, and my manicure was long gone. But I stuck it out and by summer’s end was delighted at the wonderful-tasting vegetables I’d grown. That was a few years ago and now I can’t remember why I ever wanted to live in a city.

Most of our explorations had taken us as far north as Seattle and then we would have to turn around and head home. Last year my wife insisted that we drive on into Canada so that she could see the famous Beauchard Gardens in Victoria British Columbia. I thought as long as we were that far north me might just as well explore a little more. I arranged for us to stay at a White Rock, BC bed and breakfast for two days before we got back on the road and headed south again. We will definitely be doing this again as there is so much more to see.
