The Tell-Tale Signs of Colic
Your baby is crying, and has been for some time, maybe hours. You know he isn’t tired, his diaper is dry, and he just had a bottle, so what could possibly be wrong? What you are likely dealing with is colic. Colic is acute abdominal pain in infants. Although it can appear different in each child, the typical colic symptoms include inconsolable crying, often for two or more hours, clenched fists, red faces, and a drawing up of the knees to the chest. The baby may seem most uncomfortable right after feeding. Some babies may appear unusually gassy. All of these symptoms remain, very difficult to relieve.
