FCP Tips: Doing It the Easy Way

Ironically, there are experienced editors who struggle making the transition to Final Cut Pro. With some fcp tips, though, it will be relatively easy. When editing, use sequence content.  Do not cut one sequence into another. Playhead Sync – Open. This way, you quickly see the filters and motion adjustments applied to a timeline clip without double clicking. The move to the next clip and apply a 3-way filter. In stacking the color correction filters, you stay inside FCP to do the grading, without having to leave the FCP interface by using different filters.  To quickly grade and sync your cameras, and slip sync in multiclips, find a grade that works for each camera. Copy and paste it to a browser bin.
