Tips for Teen Car Insurance

April 28th, 2009

If you have a teen in the house, it won’t be long before you need young driver car insurance. That’s when you will learn that teen car insurance can really send your insurance premiums sky high. To get the best rates, make sure your teen keeps his or her driving record clean … even one DUI can increase the insurance premium by a factor of ten. Make sure the teen keeps up with his or her grades, as some insurers offer lowers rates to students with at least a 3.0 GPA. Have your teen take an accredited dirver safety course. Avoid sports cars, SUV’s and expensive cars for your teen in order to save up to 50 percent on their car insurance rate.
