Eradicate rather than spread bugs

April 20th, 2009

A recent warning from researchers at the Welsh School of Pharmacy may see you throwing away anti-bacterial wipes for good and investing in powerful detergents and other floor cleaning equipment. The scientists recently discovered that some cleaners who used wipes tended to spread bacteria around surfaces rather than eradicating the bugs. The experts were concerned that this could lead to a rise in hospital critters rather than reduction and may put people’s health at risk.Researchers suggested that germs are spread rather than killed off when the wipes are used for a number of cleaning tasks rather than binned after their initial use. Now the scientists are calling for cleaners to use the wipes only once, or perhaps invest in some detergents.
