Google Geotargets

September 14th, 2009

Have you ever checked the search engine results from different countries? Have you noticed that they vary substantially from country to country and even city to city within a country. This is because search engines, especially Google geotargets the search results. They geotarget as they want to best serve the searcher, so they give a boost to sites that they think are more relevant to the country or region that the searcher is searching rom. This is great for the searcher, but not necessarily for the webmaster trying to rank there site in the search engines. Search engines are not there for the webmaster.
