Online Writing Tips

July 21st, 2009

It’s worth pointing out how online writing is different from print writing. That’s what the following tips are about.

1. Keywords matter. In a print magazine you can write on a topic without regard to “keywords” or “keyword phrases,” but online readers need to find your articles. That means that when they search for “dog training tips” you better have that phrase in your article if you want them to find it.

2. Short attention spans. Internet users are used to shorter articles than print readers. A good rule of thumb is to keep your article between about 400 words and 800 words.
