Should I try and at-home teeth whitener?

I lost my health insurance about six months ago when I got laid off so I haven’t had dental insurance ever since then. My teeth and really deteriorated to the point where a girl that I was dating told me that she was going to break up with me if I didn’t do something to make them look better. Basically my only option at this point is to use an at home teeth whitener and see if that does the trick. I really hope it does because this girl is really awesome. But I can see why she wouldn’t want to kiss someone with my teeth.
