Up-selling with Affiliate Offers?
September 5th, 2009
Yes, that’s possible. Up-selling is a concept of offering something else to the buyer when they buy one thing. Usually highly related stuff is up-sold, often upgrades to the original product or service. You’d think that’s a privilege of the merchants who sell their own stuff, but it’s not.
I’ve picked up this technique from Commission Blueprint and it is as follows:
Create a bonus for the affiliate offer so that visitors buy from you and you can get in touch with them.
Follow up with your bonus and offer a related product to buy
That’s it, it’s as simple as that. Alternatively, if your affiliate network provides you with contact information of your sales (like Clickbank does), you can follow up without a bonus. However, keep in mind that buyers would not except an email from you that way, and it will be much harder to up-sell to them.
