website traffic experts and marketing consultants

I was at my favorite coffee shop this morning and one of the girls working asked me what it was I did for a living. I explained that I’m a website trafficexpert and that I generally work with small businesses to help them improve their online visibility. She looked at me with a glossed over look in her eyes and clearly I had lost her in that statement. I then told her I’m a marketing consultant and ti all made sense again. I think I need to stick to telling people that I’m a marketing consultant and only explain if someone wants me to elaborate.
