Deciding On Medicare Advantage Plans
February 27th, 2010
Medicare advantage plans have gotten a bad reputations due to aggressive marketing, but this shouldn’t deter you from signing up because some plans are good deals that can get you either cheaper care or extra benefits. For instance, vision and dental coverage are common, as well as drug coverage.
However, you should avoid plans that add benefits that are worth little to you, like a gym reimbursement, and sacrifice worthwhile ones. It is important to know right from the start what you want to get out of an advantage plan and not to feel pressured by a sales pitch touting a limited-time offer. If you go to a seminar or invite an agent into your home, listen to the presentation and look at the information, but don’t make a decision on the spot.
