It’s Dad’s Turn to Tie the Knot

My parents divorced when I was seven. I lived with my dad since then. I have a normal relationship with my mom. But my dad and I have a special bond, maybe because for the longest time, it has been just the two of us. When I was in high school, I urged my dad to start dating. When I left for college, he already had a steady girlfriend. When I finally finished school, he and her lady got married. I was his best man. During the best man toast I told everyone that I will always be thankful for my dad. And this time, with my stepmom too. I knew that they waited for me to get my degree before officially starting their life together. The best man speech allowed me to share to others how special both of them are.
