Compost Holes Naturally!

May 5th, 2009

When I was young, my father used to make me dump all sorts of things in what he called a compost hole. I would dump egg shells, coffee grounds, peels and yuck! Every spring, dad would turn the dirt over and use the places where the compost holes were. His gardens were always full, and always pretty, to my young eyes. Now that I’m older, I can appreciate how to make my own organic fertilizer. I call him often, to see if this or that can be added to my compost. Of course he always has the answer… and a little bit more!
