Pet Grooming 101

So, if you’re tempted to groom your pet yourself, take my word. We found out it’s harder than it looks.

First of all, Chumley was completely baffled when we tried to get him into the kiddie pool for a bath. Rule #1: Be prepared to play (and to get soaked).

Rule #2: It’s better not to give your pet a bath in an area where there’s a lot of mud.

We finally got through that ordeal and got him dry and fluffy. Then came time for nail trimming, my least favorite thing. Kim had gotten one of those power filers with her Petco coupons which was actually pretty cool. The main thing was to keep Chumley still long enough to grind them down. It’s better than when we used to catch the quick with the old style trimmers.

Rule #3: A cold beer afterward is good (for me, not Chumley).
