We Planned on the Child Support

Going through a divorce is always traumatic, but it’s really the little things that start to grate on your nerves. For example, child support. What a hassle that is! Getting a good settlement through the court is only the beginning. Then, you have to get him to actually pay it on time. I’ve had to take out a payday advance several times just to tide us over until he came through. We actually have an arrangement now where the amount is directly taken out of his paycheck and sent straight to me and the kids, so we avoid most of the hassle. It was hairy, though, for that first while.
