Resume Tips – Why Do You Need an Effective Resume?

June 1st, 2009

Think of your resume as your personal sales person. Your resume will be working for you even before you obtain an interview: as such, it must be effective. Remember that your resume is likely to be one of very many that will be read by a prospective employer, so for it to be effective it must stand out and highlight your attributes. How you actually achieve this aim will depend upon your individual circumstances. Above all else, keep in mind that there will be plenty of other candidates with similar qualifications to your own: when you use your accomplishments to showcase your abilities, you will have a better chance of being head and shoulders above the mainstream. Your resume, in conjunction with a covering letter, is the most vital component in your search for a job.
