Basketball hoop – The rim is very important

A good basketball hoop should have a proper rim to allow for quality play. Some rims come with holes already drilled into them to fit various backboards. The rim also comes with spring and non-spring mechanisms. The rim fitted with the spring mechanism consists of two or three springs which give way if a shot is missed or a slam dunk is attempted. This is also called the breakaway rim. The non-spring rim is joined to the backboard without any springs and does not give way.
