The iPhone 3G and the iPhone 2G did not have very powerful cameras on them. They were not enough for people to really put out the need for a better camera but with the iPhone 3GS, that problem has been fixed. I really think that the iPhone 3GS is the best phone there is and with the RedLaser app, that can definitely help out but unfortunately there is no way for the iPhone 3G or the iPhone 2G to be able to get barcodes. iPhone 3GS Accessories will help but in order to take the picture you will need very steady hands.
