Looking into 2 Day Cruise Packages

I have been looking into some of the 2 day cruise packages advertised on the Internet. I really love to cruise and would love to treat my family to a vacation if I can. I think that this would be a great way to spend an extended weekend. I just want to get out of here and see someplace new. I know my wife would like that as well. Perhaps the cruise lines are feeling the pinch from the economic slowdown? I know many other companies are and perhaps this is one way for them to still keep in business and garner new travelers.
