Old West Historical Sites

Deadwood South Dakota is filled with the history of the old west.  Gunfighters,  prospectors and women of the night lived here during it’s heyday.  One must see site is the city graveyard where the graves of both Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane can be found.  For the true stories and a quick introduction to the cities historical sites start your tour in the downtown museum.  Then take a walk down the main street and see how it was then.   We were able to see both locations where Will Bill was actually shot and touch eight of the chairs he was sitting in when it happened.  As with Wild Bill himself,  the artifacts of his death have been greatly exaggerated.
